Note

1845 - Church Meeting Site: In 1845, a Free Church congregation met within the Sun Inn, Newmilns, before building their own church nearby on King Street the following year.

Based on historical accounts of Scottish congregations following the 1843 Disruption, a Free Church group in Newmilns met in the Sun Inn during 1845 before constructing a new church building on King Street in 1846. This move was part of the rapid, often temporary, establishment of new church sites for congregations that broke away from the Church of Scotland.
