Harry Thomson Whybrow, an accountant and big game hunter, was the son of Francis Whybrow. He resided in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), became a member of the Rhodesia Scientific Association in 1907 and served on its council for 1907/8. In April 1907 he read a substantial paper, "Some notes on the antelope of Southern Rhodesia", that was published in the association's Proceedings (Vol. 7(1), pp. 28-50). At the next meeting some comments on his paper were contributed by E.C. Chubb* and H.H. de Laessoe* (pp. 52-58).

Whybrow was married to Francisca Helena Hampson, with whom he had two children. He died while on active service during World War I (1914-1918).
